The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Imo State Chapter, has congratulated Ngozi Olejeme on the prestigious “Ugo Nwanyi” title being conferred on her today, March 7, 2026 as part of activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration.

In a congratulatory message issued on Saturday, the President of the Imo State chapter of Ohanaeze, Nze Sir Barr Chris Obialor, said the honour, scheduled to take place at the Mariam Babangida International Centre, is a well-deserved recognition of Olejeme’s leadership and service to society.

Obialor, kpakpando Nkwerre who spoke on behalf of the leadership and entire members of the organisation in Imo State, described the decision of the Women Wing of the Asaba Development Union to honour Olejeme as both thoughtful and deserving.

“The decision of the Women Wing of the Asaba Development Union to bestow on her the distinguished title ‘Ugo Nwanyi’ is both thoughtful and well deserved. This recognition is a clear testament to Dr. Olejeme’s remarkable contributions in leadership, her generous philanthropic engagements and obvious commitment to the empowerment and advancement of women,” he said.

He also commended Olejeme’s role in advancing the unity and progress of the Igbo nation through her leadership within Ohanaeze.

“As the National Vice President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide and notably the first woman from the South-South geopolitical zone to occupy this important office, Dr. Olejeme has continued to demonstrate admirable courage, dedication and visionary leadership in promoting the unity, dignity, and collective progress of the Igbo nation,” Obialor stated.

According to him, Olejeme’s contributions to community development and advocacy for social inclusion have made her a strong voice for women and youth across the country.

“Through her consistent engagement in community development and social advocacy, she has remained a strong voice for inclusiveness, progress, and the elevation of women in leadership and public service. Her inspiring example continues to encourage many young women to aspire to positions of influence while contributing meaningfully to society,” he added.

Obialor said the Imo State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo joins admirers and well-wishers in celebrating the milestone with her, expressing confidence that the recognition would further inspire her service to humanity.

“We are confident that this honour will further encourage her to continue her noble service to humanity and the Igbo nation,” he said.

He concluded by wishing Olejeme continued success and strength in her future endeavours.

“We congratulate her warmly on this well-earned recognition and wish her continued strength, wisdom and greater accomplishments in the years ahead,” Obialor added.
