There was panic on Monday morning at the Federal Secretariat Complex after a section of the building housing the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation was engulfed by fire.

The incident, which caused alarm among workers and visitors, reportedly broke out at about 8:20 a.m., sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky and prompting immediate concern within the sprawling government complex in Abuja.

Eyewitness accounts and videos circulating on social media showed heavy smoke billowing from the affected section of the building as officials and bystanders watched anxiously.
