The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking zonal and National Working Committee (NWC) positions will commence on Thursday, March 12, ahead of the party’s national convention.
The disclosure was contained in the party’s adjusted 2026 schedule of nationwide congresses and convention activities, which outlines the timeline for the selection of new party leaders.
According to the notice signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, aspirants interested in contesting for positions within the party’s leadership structure must submit their completed forms on or before Monday, March 16.
The notice stated that all aspirants will pay a uniform fee of ₦100,000 for the expression of interest form.
However, the cost of nomination forms varies depending on the position being sought.
Aspirants vying for the position of National Chairman are required to pay ₦10 million for the nomination form, while those seeking the offices of Deputy National Chairman and National Secretary will pay ₦7.5 million each.
Nomination forms for the remaining 21 positions in the National Working Committee have been fixed at ₦5 million each, while aspirants for positions in the National Executive Committee (NEC) will obtain their forms for ₦250,000.
The party also announced concessions for certain categories of aspirants.
“Female aspirants, youths and persons living with disabilities are entitled to pay the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the stipulated nomination fee for the positions they seek,” the notice stated.
As part of preparations for the convention, the APC scheduled March 23 for the inauguration of screening committees for the zonal congresses and the national convention, including the constitution of appeal panels.
The screening of aspirants for both the zonal congresses and the national convention will take place on March 24, while zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are slated for March 25.
According to the schedule, the South-West zonal congress will hold in Ibadan, while the South-East congress will take place in Enugu. The South-South zonal congress will be jointly hosted by Rivers and Cross River states.
In the northern region, Kaduna State will host the North-West congress, while Gombe and Bauchi states will jointly host the North-East congress. Nasarawa State has been designated as host for the North-Central zonal congress.
Appeals arising from the zonal congresses are expected to be heard on March 26.
The party’s National Convention, where new leaders are expected to emerge, is scheduled to hold March 27 and 28 in Abuja.
