The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the official timetable for the conduct of its 2026 nationwide congresses and National Convention, outlining a schedule that will see the party renew its leadership structures from the grassroots to the national level.
In the announcement jointly signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, and the National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo and dated March 14, 2026, the party said the exercise forms part of its constitutional responsibility to strengthen and reorganise its leadership across all tiers of the organisation.
“The African Democratic Congress (ADC) hereby announces the official schedule of activities for the conduct of our party’s 2026 nationwide congresses and National Convention,” the party said.
The party explained that the congresses would begin at the polling unit and ward levels and progress through local government and state congresses, before culminating in the National Convention.
“This process forms part of our party’s constitutional responsibility to renew its leadership structures across all levels of the organization, beginning from the polling units and wards through the local government and state levels, culminating in the National Convention.”
Approved Timetable
According to the party, the schedule for the congresses and convention is as follows:
- Polling Unit and Ward Congresses: April 7, 2026
- Local Government Area Congresses: April 9, 2026
- State Congresses: April 11, 2026
- National Convention: April 14, 2026
