The arrest, which took place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, occurred while the suspect was attempting to board a British Airways flight BA082 to London.

In a separate operation in Lagos, NDLEA operatives acting on intelligence arrested Maryam Olalowo in the early hours of Monday, March 9 at Ikad Hotel and Suites.

She was allegedly attempting to sell 89 grams of cocaine and 20 grams of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis. NDLEA officers said she was found with her three children, including an infant, at the time of the arrest.

During interrogation, she claimed the drugs belonged to her husband, Ibrahim Olalowo Olatunji, who was later arrested the same day while she was released.

The suspects were allegedly preparing to transport the drugs to the Benin Republic on March 9.

A follow-up raid on March 11 at Idumota Market led to the arrest of the alleged owner of the consignment, Nnamdi Cyprian. A search of his shop uncovered a parcel prepared for waybill delivery containing 1,000 tablets of tramadol 250mg.
