MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited has launched a Quick Response Team (QRT) to accelerate the repair of electricity faults and improve service delivery across Enugu State.

The initiative, unveiled on March 24, 2026, at the company’s corporate office in Enugu, is designed as a customer-focused system to ensure faster, more efficient response to network issues. Team members were formally inaugurated with a safety and service oath.

Managing Director, Ernest Mupwaya, said the move signals a shift from promises to action. “Today, with the launch of the Quick Response Team (QRT), we are demonstrating that we are not just making promises—we are taking concrete action,” he said.

Mupwaya explained that the teams are trained in rapid fault resolution, safety, and customer service, noting that fixing faults goes beyond technical work to directly impact homes, businesses, and communities. “The QRT has been designed to significantly enhance our operational responsiveness by ensuring that faults across our network are addressed swiftly, efficiently, and safely,” he added.

He further disclosed that the company has deployed fully equipped teams to operate round-the-clock across six districts—two each in Abakpa and Ogui, and one each in Nsukka and Awkunanaw—to guarantee immediate and effective response whenever faults occur.

Also speaking, Board Member, Steve Dike, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to sustained transformation. “To our customers and stakeholders, this is a signal of intent—a sign that MainPower is serious about improving service and doing things differently,” he said.

On his part, Chuka Akunne of the Enugu Electricity Regulatory Commission commended the initiative, describing it as a bold step toward prioritising service delivery. “EERC is impressed with this noble initiative meant to put service delivery at the centre of MainPower operations. We will continue to support MainPower to provide the best services for Enugu State residents,” he said.
