The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its high-level Screening Committee for the upcoming national convention, appointing former Abia State Governor and current Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, to chair Team B, while Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji will lead Team A.

The committees are tasked with ensuring a transparent, credible, and seamless screening of aspirants vying for various party positions. Former Ogun State Governor and Senator Gbenga Daniel will serve as Vice Chairman of Team B, with Sarafa Alli acting as Secretary.

Other notable members include Senators Osita Izunaso and Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, as well as seasoned political figures such as Adebayo Adelabu and Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, alongside other stakeholders drawn from across the federation.

“The APC is determined to set a high standard with this convention,” a senior party official told reporters on condition of anonymity. “The screening committee has been carefully selected to uphold fairness, integrity, and due process. This is about strengthening internal democracy and consolidating the party’s unity ahead of future electoral engagements.”

Party insiders say the diverse composition of the committees reflects APC’s commitment to inclusiveness, experience, and institutional balance, reinforcing confidence among party members and aspirants.

The national convention, expected to define the party’s leadership structure and strategic direction, officially kicks off today, with the screening exercise playing a central role in its success.
