The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced the cancellation of the monthly sanitation exercise earlier scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The Managing Director of ESWAMA, Richard Onaga, disclosed this in a public statement, explaining that the decision was taken to allow candidates participate in the nationwide Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) mock examination holding on the same day.
“The cancellation is due to the JAMB Mock exam scheduled to hold the same Saturday across the country, and to allow candidates of Enugu State origin participate in the exam,” Onaga said.
He expressed regret over any inconvenience the development may cause residents, while urging continued commitment to environmental cleanliness.
“We regret all inconveniences this cancellation may cause Ndị Enugu,” he added.
The agency also encouraged residents to maintain proper sanitation practices despite the suspension of the exercise.
“ESWAMA however calls on Ndị Enugu to continue to maintain a cleaner environment,” Onaga stated.
