Dr Ben Nwoye has been officially announced as the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress at the party’s ongoing elective convention.
Nwoye, a former Chairman and Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Enugu State, was unveiled moments ago, confirming his emergence after earlier indications of a consensus arrangement in his favour.
He succeeds Chief Emma Eneukwu, who has been part of the party’s national leadership for 13 years.
Nwoye alongside other elected members of the National Working Committee are about to take their oat of office.
The development validates earlier reports by Journalist101 that Nwoye had been adopted as the party’s preferred candidate for the position.
Party sources say his emergence reflects internal agreements aimed at strengthening unity within the APC’s leadership structure.
