Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, used the 2026 Easter season to reinforce his dual role as a national lawmaker and traditional stakeholder, combining spiritual messaging with key cultural engagements across Ohafia.
In his Easter message released during the celebrations, Kalu called on Nigerians to embrace unity, resilience, and hope in the face of prevailing national challenges.
He said the resurrection of Christ symbolizes the “triumph of hope over despair,” urging citizens to “rise above challenges” and work collectively towards building a “peaceful, prosperous, and just society.”
The senator’s message, which went beyond routine seasonal greetings, highlighted what observers described as a leadership style rooted in moral advocacy and communal harmony, particularly within the politically vibrant Abia North district.
Beyond the Easter message, Kalu also engaged deeply with traditional institutions in Ohafia, extending felicitations to Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha on his 89th birthday and 35th coronation anniversary.
Commending the monarch’s long reign, Kalu praised his “wisdom and peace,” noting that such enduring leadership has contributed significantly to stability and cultural preservation in Ebem Ohafia.
The senator also participated in the April 4 chieftaincy conferment ceremonies in the community, congratulating honourees for their contributions to local development.
According to him, the recognition of distinguished individuals through traditional titles remains vital in encouraging community service and strengthening ties between the diaspora and their homeland.
In a related development, Kalu extended his goodwill to Ezie Ohamoha Awa Orji Udonsi on his coronation as the Udumeze of Ohafia Ancient Kingdom.
He expressed confidence that the new monarch’s reign would “strengthen the rich heritage of Nde Ohafia” and further unite the people under the revered traditional institution.
Observers say the senator’s Easter engagements reflect a strategic blend of faith-based messaging and cultural diplomacy, aimed at fostering unity, preserving tradition, and strengthening grassroots connections.
By aligning national leadership with traditional authority, Kalu’s activities during the period underscored his continued commitment to bridging governance with the cultural and spiritual values of his constituents.
