Following the feelers from the senate chambers that the seat of Senator Godswill Akpabio who recently decamped from the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressive Congress will be declared vacant by the Saraki led Senate, Sen. Akpabio has approached the Federal High Court Abuja to stop the process.

In the suit number FCT/HC/IW/CV/112/2018, Sen. Akpabio Is praying the court to stop the Senate from declaring his seat vacant. In the Motion Ex-parte dated 7th August, 2018.

After listening to the Motion, the court issued an interim order restraining the the 3rd respondent (the Senate president) in the case from declaring the seat of the applicant (Sen. Akpabio) vacant.

The court also gave an order granting leave to the applicant (Sen. Akpabio) to serve the 3rd respondent (The Senate President) through a third party.
