A pressure group, under the aegis of COAL CITY DIASPORA MOVEMENT, IGBO-EZE NORTH CHAPTER, has called on Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to consider the plight and precarious situation of the people of Igbo-eze north and put the seemingly abandoned road projects in his priority list before 2019 general elections.

The National President of the group,Barr Onuora Odo,while responding to questions being fielded by journalists on his Lagos law office, posited that the people of Igbo-eze north played a pivotal role during the 2015 general elections that saw to the emergence of the Governor.

In his words,”apart from the fact that we sacrificed our own son,Sen.Ayogu Eze,who appeared to stand a better chance, being a principal member of the Red Chambers at the material time and coming from a local government Area that enjoys numerical superiority as far as Enugu State is concerned,we threw our weight behind him during the last elections.

Speaking further, Barr. Odo expressed his worry that there is nothing on ground to justify the support and sacrifice.
Voicing their worries over the copious and conspicuous abandonment of the 3kilometre road that cuts across Nkpamute, Ikpamodo and Okpo road which the Governor awarded earlier this year, the group opined that something urgent needed to be done considering the fact that the road has been taken over by flood. The road has become impassable and has become a death-trap,figuratively speaking, according to him.

In a similar manner, the group, speaking through their National President called on the Governor to consider replacing the appointment of the deceased Chief Press Secretary, Chief Uwakwe Abugu with someone from their local government.

Speaking further, Barr. Odo, noted that granted the paucity of political appointments in the area coupled with the fact that we parade galaxy of media experts who know their onions and and who have broken records in their journalistic career,it will be right and just to do the needful.

In his words,”it will be morally wrong and reprehensible to do otherwise”. It will be repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience to give the appointment to someone else.

We have media experts with proven competence, dexterity, honesty and integrity, Odo pointed out.
Barr Odo,while responding to questions with respect to the developmental projects in Igbo-eze north, strongly condemned the deplorable situation of the roads in the area and encouraged the Governor to wake up.

According to him,”we do not want to believe the rumours making the rounds that the Governor has taken that position because of the funds he “wasted” during the protracted legal battle with Sen.Eze. However,we make bold to urge the Governor to consider Igbo-eze north first because 2019 elections before something avoidably untoward will happen.

On a final note, the group reminded the Governor that Igbo-eze north deserves more.
