As the debate for PDP venue rages, some PDP stalwarts are coming out to lend their voice and raise some pertinent questions. One of them is the commissioner of Information in Abia State.
According to him, the same number of delegates will vote during the PDP convention whether held in Umuahia, Port Harcourt, Kano, Abuja or Lagos.
All party members already know those who are qualified to vote and those interested in picking the party’s ticket should simply lobby them. Every state will bring the number of voting delegates allocated to them.
So why the wahala on venue?
APC held her 2014 convention in Lagos while PDP held her 1998 convention in Jos. Both were successful conventions held outside Abuja.
Rivers state is a PDP state and there is nothing wrong with holding the convention there or even in Abia, same persons will vote.
In fact Abuja is the most unsuitable place to hold PDP convention given the recent refusal by the APC-led federal Govt to allow Kwankwaso use Eagle Square to flag off his presidential campaign.
Do you know that the ruling party can effectively scuttle a PDP convention held in Abuja through subtle maneuvers such as pre-booking all the hotels in Abuja, closing Abuja Airport, mismanaging traffic and mobilizing miscreants to disrupt the event?
Please let’s move forward and stop chasing rats in a burning house. The principal concern should be to ensure the fidelity of the delegate list and ensure that all genuine delegates vote during the convention.
No matter where the convention is held whoever gets the majority of votes from delegates will be the flag bearer.
Unity is more important that winning small battles when there is a war coming.
PDP…Power to the people.

To Mr Ikechukwu, the venue of Convention will not add any additional delegates to any state or remove one from any state .
Again , Gov Wike is not wrong to be fighting just like Countries do to host World Cup .
Countries don’t fight to host world cup because they will manipulate it , but because of economic gains .
Rivers State economy will gain over #500million from hosting PDP National Convention within two days !
