The former governor of Enugu State and a one time senator, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani has made a shocking return to Enugu politics.

His return into politics to seek Election into the Senate under the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state has been given a boost following his trashing of the incumbent senator Gilbert Nnaji in the just concluded PDP primaries.

In a landslide victory, Nnamani pooled a total of 597 to defeat the incumbent senator who scored a paltry 69 votes.

By his victory at primary election, Dr. Nnamani is a step closer at representing the people of Enugu East Sanatorial zone in the red chamber.

NnamanI who could best be described as the father of modern Enugu politics had failed to realise his ambition twice under the Platform of PDC, a platform founded by himself.

Chimaroke was the governor of Enugu State from 1999-2007 and a senator from 2007 to 2011

The complete result of the primaryelection is;

Invalid votes 8
Gab Agu. 8
Chinedu Nneji. 8
Joshua Mbah 4
Nkwo Ngene. 4
Lawrence Eze. 25
Gil Nnaji. 69
Chimaroke Nnamani 597

Events of the coming days will determine if this will be a for resurrection his EBEANO political family.
