Former Governor of ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose have been granted bail by Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Lagos division of the federal High court.

Fayose was granted bail today with the sum of N50m bond, surety to present three years tax clearance.

The judge also ordered that his International Passport to be deposited with the court as part of his bail conditions.

Mr Fayose who was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, is facing an 11-count charge of conspiracy and money laundering amounting to ₦2.2 billion.

According to the EFCC, Mr Fayose received ₦1.2 billion to fund his 2014 gubernatorial campaign in Ekiti State which the commission claimed it was part of proceeds of an unlawful act.
