In what appeared like a fanning competition, stranded Air-Peace passengers converted materials within their reach to hand fans to avoid suffocation at the Departure Hall of the FAMOUS Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The Children had their own fair share of the terrible situation as they wept uncontrollably as the departure hall became more like a bread bakery room.
A passenger who spoke to our reporter said there were no functional fans nor air conditioners in the acclaimed international airport.
“This place is like hell. You can imagine what this place feels like under this weather’ without fan or air conditioner.
“Our flight was meant to be by 1:pm but it is 6pm and no explanation is coming from the Air-Peace management.”
The state of the airport has become a source of worry of recent and has attracted the attention of the South East governors who recently called for the intervention of the Federal Government.
Recall that Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi recently, set up a committee to look into the state of the airport and proffer possible solutions to lift the face of the airport.
