BREAKING: APC governorship candidate in Lagos picks former opponent as Deputy

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Lagos state Babajide Sanwo-Olu has picked Femi Hamzat as his running mate for next years election in the state.

Femi Hamzat was among the contestants for the governorship ticket in the state but stepped down for Babajide Sanwo-Olu less than 72 hours to the primary election which was later won by Mr Sanwo-Olu.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu took took to his tweeter to announce Dr. Hazmat’s appointment which he said was done after wild consultations.

“After consulting widely with stakeholders and our political party, I am delighted to announce Dr.  Femi Hamzat as my Deputy Governorship candidate. With this decision, Lagosians should be rest assured of the best as we will work assiduously to transform every aspect of our lives”.

Femi Hamzat served as the Commissioner for Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Lagos State and also the Commissioner for Ministry of Science & Technology, both in Tinubu and Fashola’s administration.
