President Muhammadu Buhari may have cancelled his earlier scheduled trip to Edo state to declare the Chief Of Army Staff(COAS) Annual Conference which was scheduled to take place in Benin-city, Edo state.

President Buhari’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmed who disclosed this in a tweet on Sunday said the (COAS) conference have been moved to Maiduguri, Borno state.

In his tweet, he said; “President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to declare the COAS Annual Conference on 28 November 2018 at the Conference Hall CGH in Maiduguri, Borno State”.

“The Conference was earlier scheduled to take place from 26 – 30 November 2018 in Benin, Edo State”.

The shifting of the COAS Annual conference from Benin city to Maiduguri may be connected to the recent killings of some Nigeria troops in Metele village as the president might want to use the opportunity of the conference to address the troops in order to boost their morale in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency.
