The gubernatorial ambition of the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, Senator Ayogu Eze, received a boost over the weekend as the leadership of Abia, Anambra, Imo, Delta and Ebonyi, AAIDE, Consultative Assembly threw its weight behind the APC governorship candidate.
The Enugu State Chairman of AAIDE, Benjamin Nwafor said the Assembly, which can boast of over 74 town unions in Enugu State have their valid Permanent Voter Cards.
Nwafor stated that the choice of Senator Ayogu is based on their conviction that the APC candidate has all it takes to move the state forward adding that Senator Eze has proven track records of service to his people.
He stated that the current administration has not lived up to the expectations of people that gave the current administration 100% of their support.
Speaking at the event, the State Chairman of APC, Ben Nwoye thanked the leadership of AAIDE for this initiative and assured them that APC administration under Ayogu Eze will carry them along
He enjoined them to keep hope alive as Senator Ayogu is a leader that will give her citizens “hands up” and not a “hand out” as obtained in the current administration in the state.
In his response, Senator Ayogu Eze maintained that his lifestyle over the years detest this idea of “Non-Indigene”.
According to senator Eze, “I am a detribalized Nigerian and when elected, my policies will affect anyone in Enugu State and they will have every reason to call Enugu home”.
“Everybody is from somewhere, wherever you are, you came from somewhere thus, everyone is the same and equal.
“In the first one year of my administration, Enugu and her environs will have pipe borne water running in their taps.
“We will publish our statement of account every month to ensure absolute transparency in our administration” he said.
He enjoined them to jettison the idea of Non-Indigene and promised them that a minimum of 2 commissioners in his cabinet will come amongst their people.
On the forthcoming Presidential election, Senator Eze charged them on the need for them to organise themselves.
“We must organise ourselves properly and get what is due for our people in the Nigeria project.
“We have never had the opportunity to produce the president of this country like we do now” he concluded.
In their separate remarks, Chris Amah (KSM), Lolo Uzoma Ukah and Nwaogwugwu Eric assured the APC standard bearer that they will work with all their members to deliver him in the polls.
