A middle aged woman, identified as Mary Akinyi have been reported dead after a mobile phone exploded in her bedroom, Standard of Kenya reports.
Mary who is said to be 45years if age was charging a mobile phone with a solar power which made the mobile phone to explode, killing her and seriously injuring her husband who was in the same room with her.
The standard of Kenya also reports that the incident occurred on Sunday in Kadiburo village, kagan, Ranger sub county of Kenya.
Nathaniel Ochieng, a relative to the affected family disclosed that the mobile phone exploded after lightening struck the solar panel on the roof top of the house during a heavy down pour.
While the woman died at the spot, Patrick Yala, husband to the deceased was rushed to Ndiru health center for medication after he sustained various degrees of injuries.
