Fidelity Advert

Again with us is Christmas season. First as Christians we commemorate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ who first gave his life to free us from bondage. Collectively, we glorify His Divine Providence for bringing us so far, in spite excruciating challenges on our march to freedom. Then as Biafrans we ponder on what Christmas signify to humanity … a period for recollection, for conciliation, for rectitude in our relationship to and with one another.

It has been a long walk to freedom. Along the line we have come face to face with the inveterate foe, withstanding inimical surrounding circumstances, more often threatened with inundation. But what signify us out amidst tremendous odds are our zeal, our courage, our unrelenting nature and our determination to excel. That we have refused to give up amidst overwhelming threats is the pride of our being and the fear of our detractors.

In this commendable sacrifice and immense contributions are the indomitable members of Bim-Massob family, as well as other courageous organisations known and acknowledged in our Struggle. I remain ever thankful.

This special Christmas season becomes a time to appreciate the resilience of our people. Their untiring spirits with deep and abounding conviction. We are at the threshold of our freedom gate and by way of attestation, currently building visible structures for Biafra Government Administrative convenience in all our Zones.

Officially let me remind our people that our non-violence philosophy remains an abiding ideal in Biafra narrative. We must religiously adhere to this despite loose contrary opinions. We invite such people to understand and appreciate the reasons of our choice.

For us to reconcile our individual and collective differences … not for my sake, not for your sake, but for our children and their succeeding generations as well. For beyond the individual ambition, Biafra is supreme. Let us now form a circle.

I send to all, with deep gratitude, my warmest Christmas greetings, Biafrans worldwide. To our fathers and mothers, to our sons and daughters; to all who always answer the call of duty, to those who still disagree with us; to our neighbours, too.

Biafrans everywhere a people to be with. To the Igbos. To the Ijaws. To the Ibibio and the Efik. To our people in Benue, Edo and Kogi who just happily returned to the fold. To others in Ishan, Uhrobo, Itshekiri and Warri who are yet undecided, despite regional affinity and geographical proximity. To them I share my Christmas Greetings.

While we commemorate this Christmas, we must not forget that many of our compatriots in Biafra Actualization Mission are still in Police custody. Many more are in various Nigerian prisons languishing because of what they believe in and unwilling to give up. I ask Nigeria occupation forces to release them. Some are in Exile because of the Biafra values they swore to uphold and defend. Others have died defending, asserting and Biafra. To them more especially we share our Christmas Greetings. And promise to them a candle light night. And to those who suffer persecution because they identified with us, we share this season’s greetings too. Encouraging them that though their present ordeal is a cruel fate, their freedom is guaranteed.

And as we happily reach this 2018 conclusion, let us be part of 2019 beginning. Enjoy your Christmas.

Biafra is our home. Remain ever blessed.

From the Biafra Seat of Power
Chief, Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike
