Fidelity Advert

Nkanu Liberation Movement (NLM), an umbrella body of Enugu East Senatorial Zone has rejected the candidacy of Dr Chimaroke Nnamani for Senate. NLM in a press statement signed by its leaders from the six local governments of Enugu East LGA, said its rejection of the former governor is because he would fall short of optimal representation of the zone at the Red Chambers, amongst other issues enumerated in the release.

In the Press Release, NLM listed the following as its reasons for the rejection:

1. That it is on record that HE Chimaroke Nnamani did not achieve any single thing in his four years at the Senate. The only time he ever stood up to speak, he was shouted down with cries of ‘ole, ole!’ (thief, thief!). He sat for plenary only twice and never went to the Red Chambers more than twice in the four years;

2. No one who is not an Nkanu person has the right to choose the senatorial candidate to represent us in our senatorial zone, whether he is a governor or not- we are a free people; Nkanu people will choose who their leaders will be and we have chosen, through the voices of the political leaders of Nkanu land, Chief Jim Nwobodo and Senator Ken Nnamani who anointed publicly Prince Lawrence Eze to go to senate for us;

3. Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has a lot of political baggages, and the EFCC, the ICPC and other anti-graft agencies have accused him of looting N60 billion Enugu state funds;

4. As a matter of fact, his name is number 11 among those placed on travel ban by Executive Order 6 of 2018, as a result of these political as well as criminal baggages;

5. Above all, of all the local governments in the zone, Nkanu East has never produced a senator, aside this, this is the most underdeveloped local government area in Enugu East Senatorial Zone since past senators concentrate their projects in the urban areas of the zone. Its high time Nkanu East is allowed to produce a senator to help in developing the senatorial zone-cum local government Area.

6. Because what is good for the goose is said to be good for the gander, the NLM, on behalf of all Nkanu people of Enugu East senatorial zone therefore conclude to root for the Prince of Mburubu, Engineer Lawrence Ezeh as our next senator.

7. In addition, our dear Chimaroke Nnamani has done his best and can not die for his people as he is not a martyr, a common saying in Nkanu Land is that you don’t send a man coming back from the market to purchase some items for the man at home rather you send the man preparing to head to the market for such useful items, Chimaroke is done and no amount of dusting can resurrect a dead horse.

It is on this note that we appeal to all those currently on the political chessboard that Nkanu People are no longer ponds in the board but rather the queen that decides the outcome of the game.

From the above, it is very obvious that our stand is not only genuine but germane for proper representation of Nkanu nation in the Red Chambers of the national assembly, and not out of malice nor political gerrymandering.

Signed,

1. Chief Mark Ogbu (Agbani, Nkanu West)

2. Comrade Uzoesi Ngene (Ugbawka, Nkanu East)

3. Prince Vincent Nwannaji (Alulu, Enugu East)

4. Chief Ifeanyi Okonkwo-ede (Enugu North)

5. Hyacinth Maduabuchi (Enugu South)

6. Dr Hezekiah Nwanzi (Neke, Isi Uzo)
