My people, elections are not won anywhere in the world now with portraits of icons and legends like those of late Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu as some politicians and political party(ies) without ideologies are doing. Moreover, gone was the time when “gutter politics”, lies, insults and calumny are employed for political victory. The world has moved beyond those periods.
We are in time of practicability. Presently, verifiable facts, good records, integrity, sound knowledge of people’s needs and how they will be achieved are required to win elections. We are in an era that electorates search for the best candidate(s) in all political parties so that their demands will be met after the elections.
Many contestants are moving about now and asking for our votes. Most of them have come with their known trademarks which are lies, deceits and insults. We should be able to differentiate them from the right candidates. That can be done by knowing what we want and the candidates that are most qualified to serve us and achieve desireable results.
When someone is voted to represent his/her people, he is sent on a mission to get what his people want. My people, Anambra central people, I know what we want and how they can be achieved.
We want self governance, good economy, good education, better health facilities, employment, policies that remove unnecessary bottleneck in trading and businesses, security of lives and properties, and freedom for religious and cultural practices.
The listed needs of ndi Anambra central, which are also the needs of Anambra people can be peaceful gotten via regional autonomy. Fortunately, the entire South East region and majority of regions in Nigeria have similar needs, thus all that is needed now is synergy among federal lawmakers for passing bill for regional autonomy.
I will be the voice for regional autonomy in national assembly and the mediator of lawmakers from all interested regions. Regional autonomy for indigenous nationalities in Nigeria is guaranteed if I am elected to represent Anambra central.
Obumneke Ejimnkeonye Okafor is the best candidate for Anambra central senatorial election. A vote for Obumneke is vote for regional autonomy. Vote for odimma ndi Igbo.
