Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen today failed to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT sitting in Abuja.
Onnoghen who is facing charges of fraudulent declaration of assets have failed to appear before the tribunal since the commencement of the case.
The CCT began the sitting in Onnoghen’s absence with a consortium of Senior Advocates standing for him.
It will be recalled that the defendant had approached a federal high Court challenging the jurisdiction of the CCT to hear the case.
Meanwhile, counsel to the CJN told the court that the defendant was not properly served with court summons.
