Fidelity Advert

The news that the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai was involved in a fatal car accident which was rumoured to have claimed the life of his driver is not going down well with the supporters of the Governor.

The founder of Initiative for the Promotion of Integrity, Transparency and good Leadership, Miss Blessing Tom has condemned in strong terms, the news about the death of the Governor describing it as a “gross abuse of the social media.”

Miss Blessing queried why people, mostly young people will gloat about the death of the Governor forgetting that the power of live and death lies with our maker.

“There has been a false news making the rounds that governor El Rufai of kaduna state was involved in a car accident, as a youth and a Christian, it is painful that young people are the ones propagating this false news and rejoicing over such.
“It is therefore eminent to remind us all that life and death is in the hand of God and he gives to whoever he pleases.

Miss Tom called on the federal government to facilitate the prosecution of the propagators of fake news as the adverse effect of this ugly trend is better imagined.

“Considering the trauma such news brought to many (had it been true), I am compelled to call on the government to take the prosecution of fake news propagators as a priority, as this would serve as a deterant to others.

“Social media has it’s positive sides, but it’s wrongful application can plunge a people and a nation into chaos if care is not taken.”

She reiterated that Mallam El-rufai who is also the patron of their organization is “hale and hearty and is going about his constitutional duties.
“We also wish our patron long life, wisdom and knowledge to execute the second term mandate reposed on him by the good people of kaduna state” she concluded.
