Today, delegation from Enugu State council of traditional Rulers visited distinguished Senator Ayogu Eze, the APC standard bearer in the last governorship election in Enugu State in his house in Enugu.

The leader of the delegation and the chairman of Council of traditional rulers in Enugu State, HRH, Lawrence Agubuzo told newsmen after the visit that they are here today to appeal to the APC Guber candidate in the last election to in the interest of peace, withdraw his suit at the election tribunal.

“We are here representing the entirety of Enugu State in general and the traditional rulers in particular. We feel that at this juncture, it is necessary for our sons in politics in Enugu State to close ranks and work as a team for the progress and prosperity of our state.

“We have discussed extensively with distinguished Senator Ayogu Eze. We came to see him as an individual to honour us with an agreement and withdraw the petition at the election tribunal.

“We are appealing to him that it is in the interest of not just the present generation but future generation of Enugu State, that we should have this rapour” Igwe Agubuzo concluded.

In his reaction, Senator Ayogu Eze thanked the delegation for the honour of coming to see him and assured them that their efforts in ensuring there is peace in Enugu State will not be in vain.

“It is really a mark of honour and respect that they left all their responsibilities this week to come and be with us. I’m highly honoured by their presence and I want to assure them that their efforts to bring peace shall not be in vain.

“I have told the Chairman( Igwe Agubuzo) that I will get back to him after due consultation because I have been consulting widely and I also need to talk with the leadership of the party about this visit. Because this visit by the traditional rulers is indeed a turning point.

“I have had visitation from other groups but this must be the height of it and I want to assure them that their visit shall not be in vain” Senator Ayogu Eze said.

Recall that Senator Ayogu Eze is in the election petition tribunal to challenge the outcome of the February 23rd Guber election which he called a “sharede.”
