Following the Federal government dramatic suspension of the Ruga settlements policy for herdsmen, Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) still believes that it is not over yet.

There is need to completely withdraw the policy and not suspending it “temporarily.”

We also believe that with the introduction of the National Livestock Transformation Plan, NLTP, that the federal government is still bent on carrying out it’s Ruga Policy.

So whether it is Ruga or NLTP, it is like allowing them to build walls around us, It can be said that cattle ranching is a practice in civilized nations while Ruga or NLTP is a subtle way of colonising territories for expansionist agenda. Therefore, anybody who is still doubting that RUGA or NLTP is not a secret strategy to Fulanize as well as Islamize the nation should be examined his mental stability.

Both initiative must be rejected by all legal means because the ultimate plan is to conquer their host communities and at the same time take over their ancestral lands, therefore all hands must still be on deck, the fact it has been suspended doesn’t mean it won’t be continued as they might choose to tag it a different name.

At this point, Igbo youths please wake up from thy slumber, emancipate from this mental slavery, for a bigger fish is frying and “Who will tame the monsters.”

We have decided to allow these people to toil with us and it is time to say enough is enough, if we don’t programme our mind, it will be programmed for us, if we don’t programme our land it will be programmed for us. They don’t have anything for us socially, politically, and otherwise.

It might seem like the future is far away from our youths for now, despite we are still enjoying the slogan that we are leaders of tomorrow.

However, the time has come for us to engage our stakeholders in our various communities, heads of Town union associations, our legislators, and most importantly, we have to speak up, because it is said and written that our rights cannot be tagged to be an act of rebellion even as our reactionary leaders will always see it as so. There is need to equip yourself with your constitutional rights.

For the Southeast Governors, this is the time to unite, forget whatever happened in the past and tackle this situation facing us in AlaIgbo without out any fear or favour.

To those that have been fighting for the economic and political liberation of Ndigbo, I ask you not to relent for it is said “If the kernel is not finished the jaw will not rest.”

Finally, if we do not allow truth to guide us what means is that we are likely to succumb to pitfalls of deliberate ignorance.

So, I leave you all with this, “We are the solution we seek, it all lies in our hands, we are the salvation, the freedom, the enlightenment, everything we desire, the solution is not far fetched, it lies within not outside.
