The second edition of the biggest Skill Exhibition festival in Nigeria is coming to Enugu State, South East Nigeria.

The event which is organized by iCreate Africa, an organization that prides itself as a hub for skill excellence and development, will take place on the 19th and 20th of July, 2019 at the KOBB event centre, inside Polo Shopping Mall.

iCreate is a social enterprise which promotes the need for a renewed focus on deriving the benefits of technical skills through skill competitions, grassroots community projects, and training.

In 2018, iCreate Africa organized the first and biggest Technical and Vocational Skill Competition in Nigeria, the iCreate Skill Festival.

In the first edition, 45 winners from 14 skill trades were awarded cash prizes, equipments, endorsement deals, internship and job placements, training and mentoring. The 14 Gold medalists where crowned iCreate Skill Champions and will attend the World Skills Competition in Kazan, Russia in August this year to represent Nigeria.

The Skill Competition is an innovative strategy to curb the high youth unemployment, promote skill excellence and prepare youths for jobs of the future.

By rebranding vocational skills, iCreate Africa is addressing the negative societal perspective affecting the acceptance of technical skill trades while upgrading the value of technical professions.

This year, iCreate Africa is hosting regional Technical and Vocational Skills Competitions across geopolitical zones. After a successful outing in Kaduna on 26th-27th April for the iCreate Northern Region Skill Competition, iCreate Africa will be hosting the next regional skills competition for the South East zone in Enugu on the 19th-20th of July 2019.

The winners will compete at the Finals in Lagos on 4th-5th December 2019 to stand the chance of becoming the iCreate Skill Champion 2019 in their respective trades.

The Skill Competition showcases new technologies and best practices, designed to meet the skills demand of each region. The regional Skills Competition in Enugu will feature 13 skill trades across various industries, including Building and Construction, ICT, Creative Arts, Fashion and Hospitality.

An industrial exhibition, job boards, panel discussions around TVET and youth empowerment complement the 2-days program for each event.

The Skill festival is supported by Robert Bosch Nigeria Ltd., GIZ, Sterling Bank Plc, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mafita UKAid, the Nigerian Embassy Berlin, the German Embassy Abuja, Cachez Group, Julius Berger Nig. Ltd, and Trace TV amongst others.
