The battle between the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and his erstwhile Godfather, the former Governor of the state and the ruling APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole on who controls the state house of Assembly is not going in favour of the formwer.

The House of Representative investigation committee had told the Governor to issue a fresh proclamation for the house to be reinaugurated, an order the Governor dismissed almost immediately.

In a recent development, the upper legislative chamber, the Senate on Tuesday ordered the Governor, Godwin Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation letter on the 7th Edo House of Assembly.

The senate also ordered that the Clerk of the Edo House of Assembly should inform all 24 members elect via electronic/print media of the new inauguration date after receiving the proclamation letter from the governor.

With the two chambers of the National Assembly directing the Governor to issue a fresh proclamation letter, the events in the coming days will determine what the future holds for Obaseki politically.
