The Kidnappers of the traditional ruler of Obom-Agbogugu autonomous community in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, His Royal Highness, Igwe Sunday Orji has contacted his family, Journalist101 has learnt.
The traditional ruler Journalist101 earlier reported was kidnapped just after Agbogwugwu-Ihe junction while he was coming back from the reception of the thanksgiving service organized by the Bishop of Awgu Diocese for a successful priestly ordination of the dioceses on Satuday.
Confirming the development to Journalist101, one of the sons of the traditional ruler, ugochukwu Orji, said “yes we have been contacted by the kidnappers of our father and we are certain they are Fulani Herdsmen.”
Asked if the kidnappers had made any demand, Prince Orji said, “yes they have made a demand. They are demanding for Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000).”
When contact for reaction, Enugu Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP, Ebere Amaraizu said; “the police is fully aware of the ugly development and are currently on the trail of the kidnappers.”
He went further to state that “with the technical support the command is receiving, they will close in the hoodlums as soon as possible.”
