The people of Ndiaguede community, Nara in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State are now living in great fear following alleged threat by Fulani herdsmen to attack the community.

According to report by Everyday News, people are fleeing the village for fear of the unknown while the pastors have resorted to prayers to avert the looming danger.

According to the report, trouble started when a young man from the community inflicted a machete wound on one of the cows in retaliation to the destruction of his farm produce by the cows.

The herdsmen reportedly came and took away the injured cow but promised to come back for a revenge.

An indigene of the community raised the alarm on the social media saying, “as it is now, everybody in my community is scampering for safety. I appeal to our governor, and the government of Enugu State, all the security agencies to do something to save our people from impending massacre of any type.”

Also speaking to Everyday News a man of God from the community Pastor Elisha Udeh of the Christ Peculiar Assembly said; “The situation is that the community has started praying. We have been calling on God to intervene in the matter.
“Everybody is afraid, both the elderly people and the young ones are running helter-skelter. So the men of God in the village decided to come together and pray and we are planning to gather all villagers for special prayers on Monday.

“Because the Fulani’s threatened the village that they will come.”

When contacted, the Nkanu East Local Government chairman Mr. Ikechukwu Ubagu confirmed the incident but said he is not aware of any threat. “Who told them,” he queried the reporter. I am aware of what you are saying but not aware of the threat of attack.”
