Enugu State is in the news again as daredevil kidnappers struck along Obioma-Nsude axis of Enugu-Onitsha Old road Thursday night, abducting four persons at a time.
The victims were travelling in a Toyota Venza car when the kidnappers intercepted the vehicle and took all of them away. The incident occurred around 8.30pm.
The abducted persons were identified as Ernest Otugo, a businessman based in Nnewi, his wife, their son and a family friend who was identified as Reuben.
Otugo is the President-General of Olo town union.
Independent reported that the kidnappers later released Otugo’s wife to go and raise money to pay ransom for the release of other hostages.
In a similar development, a life witness has informed Journalist101 that a couple Whose identities are yet to be known was whisked away by gunmen along Obioma, just after the Obioma hills in the early hours of Friday, 23rd August.
The eyewitness told journalist101 that the kidnappers left the 3 children (who confirmed that it was herders that took their parents away)of the kidnapped couple in their SUV vehicle.
According to him, the ugly incident took place around 6:14am and they were able to complete their journey after the arrival of security operative.
