ENUGU— All is now set for the National flag-off of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Enugu by the Inspector General Of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu.

According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the event which will take place on 29th day of August, 2019 at the conference hall of BON Hotel Sunshine, presidential road Enugu, beginning from 10am will have notable Nigerians in attendance for this all important programme initiated by the IGP Adamu.

The initiative as impeccably gathered, was geared towards saving our youths from the claws of cultism and other vices thereby saving them from destruction and making them useful to be able to contribute their quota meaningfully to the nation’s growth and development.

Amaraizu stated that “the programme which is community driven in line with the tenets of the community policing will be deployed in all the thirthy six states of the country including Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. POCACOV will also help to deepen the relationship between the police and its various public.”

The police officer while highlighting the objectives, benefits and importance of the programme added that; “POCACOV is all about you and to ensure that our environment are safer and secured.

“POCACOV will be dealing with cultism and other related vices and we are happy some partners are emerging for the support and sustenance of the campaign like ‘FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER’ Campaign which stands for violence is stoppable and peace is possible.”

He noted that the campaign programme is under partnership with Esmic International, Match Makers Consult and the lead partner, the Nigeria Policing Programme (NPP).

“We shall also be partnering with the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, National Orientation Agency, NOA, media organizations and ofcourse our social media team amongst others to drive this campaign which is community oriented,” the statement added.
