Southeast Governors Forum are currently in a meeting with the Security Chiefs of various security agencies at Enugu State Government House.

The Governors of Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ebonyi, David Umahi, who’s the Chairman of the Forum, Anambra, Willie Obiano, Imo, Emeka Ihedioha and Abia, represented by His Deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu, are all in attendance.

Also present for the meeting are: The Minister of Aviation, Hon. Hadi Sirika, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, represented by the GOC, 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Abubakar Maikobi; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, represented by the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Enugu, Air Vice Marshal Idi Amin and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, represented by AIG, Zone 9, Umuahia, Baba Tijani.

Others include, the Commissioners of police and State Directors of DSS in the five South Eastern States, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, Prof. Barth Nnaji, leadership of Vigilante/Neighbourhood Watch groups in the zone, representatives of FERMA, Nzuko Umunna, and the Director of Highways, South East zone, Henry Udeh, among others.

Top on the agenda of the meeting JOURNALIST101 learnt is the issue of security in the region and the closure of the only international airport in the region- Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
