The latest attacks against nationals of other African countries (many amongst them Nigerians) domiciled in South Africa, which started on August 28, 2019, has spread to several parts of that country, raising fears of more violence in the.

Reacting to this ugly development, the Federal Government of Nigeria said, “Nigeria will take further steps to ensure safety of citizens in SA.”

The continuing attack on Nigerians is coming after President Buhari met with the President of South Africa, Cyril, Ramaphosa at the just concluded TICAD7 at Japan and they diagnosed about the issue.

The complete reaction reads posted via the official twitter handle of the FG reads;

“The continuing attacks on Nigerian nationals and businesses in South Africa are unacceptable.

“Enough is enough.

“Nigeria will take definitive measures to ensure safety and protection of her citizens.

“Last week President MBuhari met with the president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, on sidelines of TICAD7, in Japan, to discuss this. Further discussions scheduled for October 2019, during Pres Buhari’s official visit to SA.

“In the meantime, Nigeria will take further steps to ensure safety of citizens in SA.”
