ENUGU— The newly deployed Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdulrahaman has stated his resolve and commitment towards improving the safety and security of lives and properties of citizens in the state.

CP Abdurrahaman made this known on Monday during the occassion of his maiden interface with Senior Officers, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Department of the Command at the conference room of the State Police Headquarters, Enugu.

According to the new commissioner of police, “I am in the state to serve and to ensure a safe and secured state and I am going to engage relevant stakeholders to reduce the incidences, security worries in our environment.”

Abdurraham who charged all officers to rise up to the occassion and be dedicated to service added: “We are to take the war to would-be-criminals and not ready to give them breathing space through our visibility policing.”

On extortion and corrupt tendencies, he warned in strong terms that such will not be condoled by him as a graduate of corruption studies and advocate against corruption with his years of service with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as his several training on anti-corruption in Hongkong and Singapore.

He warned that any one linked with any corrupt tendencies will be made to face the music in line with the Police Act and Regulations.

“Corruption debases our integrity. We need to shun it from all angle. We have to serve the people by being sincere, dedicated to duty and humble,” the state police boss noted.

It will be recalled that CP Abdurrahaman who assumed duty today, Monday, September 2, 2019 took over from Suleiman Balarabe who was redeployed to Intelligence Bureau Force Headquarters, Abuja.
