The joint association for Enugu State Good Governance Tour2019 which is comprised of the Leadership of Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, Development Organizations, Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, and Nigeria Union of Local Government Enugu State, NULGE.
In a Press Statement signed by Comrade Viginus Nwaobodo, Chairman NLC Enugu, Rex Arum, NUJ Chairman Enugu and Igboke Onyebuchi Rep Development Organizations the group said; “the Local Government Good Governance Tour in Enugu State became very necessary as a result of State government planned reforms in improving the life of workers and ensuring quality service delivery.
“The Enugu State Local Government Good Governance Tour is for an on spot assessment of Local performance and will serve as an independent governance score card.
“The assessment will be focusing on three main scopes viz. participatory and responsive governance, Workers, project monitoring and evaluation. It will help to keep the Local Government on check to enable them compliment the efforts of the State Government, especially as they are receiving allocation directly from the Federal Government.
The group stated that; “The report of the assessment which is going to be graded based on the potentials and unique achievements of each LGA will be submitted to the State Government.
They, therefore, called on the leadership of the 17 Councils in the state to cooperate with the team that will be visiting their LG.
