The pioneer National Chairman of People for Democratic Change (PDC) Alhaji Mahmud Waziri is dead.

The Lafia born politician who died in the early hours of September 18th at the age of 84 in Lafia, the Nassarawa State Capital was also, the Presidential Candidate of the PDC in the 2011 General Elections and came 5th.

His death was announced by his son Haji Baba Akwanga Waziri who also said that his father, H.E., Alhaji Mahmud Waziri has been laid to rest in accordance with Muslim traditions.

It will be recalled that the former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani contested in the 2011 & 2015 General Elections under the platform of the PDC though he lost the National Assembly Elections in controversial circumstances both times before his recent election to the current Senate under the People’s Democratic Party.

Earliest callers at the residence to condole with the bereaved family included the PDC National Chairman Chief Chukwuemeka Igwe, Former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation and Enugu State PDC Governorship Candidate in the 2015 elections, Rt Hon KGB Oguakwa, emissary of Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, some retired Justices, Ambassadors, and Federal Permanent Secretaries,amongst so many other dignitaries.
