…at the risk of impeachment by Council’s Legislators

The council chairman of Igbo Eze North local government area of Enugu State, Mr. Uwakwe Ezeja is currently battling to save his political life after a voice note between him and the treasurer of the council, Mr Temple Udeh became a public knowledge.

In the voice clip which the Chairman himself wrongly sent to a whatsapp group “IGBO-EZE NORTH MOVEMENT” on the 3rd of October, 2019, at about 1:38am, Mr Uwakwe was heard in the voice clip pleading with the LG treasurer, Mr Temple Udeh to always pay by any means possible, any claims raised by the leader of the Legislative Council, Hon.Ogbonna Aminu, that the young man is suffering for them ”Aminu na-atananyi aafu”.

In the audio clip obtained by JOURNALIST101, the chairman said; “onwe claim (if he has any claim), let us go extra mile and see what we can do, no matter how small because I know the pressure.”

The clip has caused serious ripple in the political circle in the council as some councillors are feeling cheated by their council chairman and shortchanged by the leader of the house, Aminu.

One of the councillors that spoke to journalist101 said; “They will hear from us, this is purely God at work. The leader of the house will have to explain to us how he’s suffering for the executive arm we are supposed to checkmate their activities.”

“What is this claim?” another lawmaker who spoke to us asked. “Someone has been using us for trading” he continued.

“This claim(s) has to be spelt out to us. It’s obvious he has been enriching himself using the house and we will surely ask questions in the coming days.”

Another stakeholder who doesn’t want his name to be mentioned told our correspondent that gradually, it’s becoming crystal clear that the Governor of Enugu State is not our problem as we have been made to believe as the reason for the serious infrastructural decay in Ezike Oba over the years.

As at the time of filing in this report, all efforts to hear from Hon. Uwakwe failed as didn’t respond to calls on his line, 08039****78.
