The meeting of the South East Governors forum has just ended at Government House, Enugu, Enugu State.

The Meeting was an expanded one having some religious and socio-cultural leaders in the zone present.

The resolution of the forum – to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, on the welfare of the people was disclosed by Chairman of the forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi, while briefing newsmen.

Present at the meeting were; the host Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Deputy Governor of Imo State, Hon. Gerald Irona, Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ohanaeze Ndigbo President-General, Chief Nnia Nwodo, Senator Victor Umeh, Catholic Bishop of Enugu Doicese, Most Rev. Dr. Callistus Onaga, Archbishop Christopher Ede of Methodist Church Nigeria, Enugu, among others.

Journalist101 recall that after the meeting of the forum on the 31st August, number seven of their resolution was to; “to write the president requesting an audience with him and service chiefs.”

The forum was however silent on the situation of Enugu International airport 51 days after it was closed and no work has commenced.

Nothing was also said on the poor state of all the federal roads in the region which has become a death trap.

After the meeting, the Governor of Enugu State, Gov. Ugwuanyi took his colleagues and other Igbo leaders present to see the 100 units of Innoson Hilux vans fully installed with communication gadgets, which were recently procured by his administration for the security agencies in the state to effectively discharge their duties.
