Enugu State police command has arrested three notorious suspected burglars that have been terrorising the members of the public within mile 2 axis of Oji River.
According to the command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Oji River Division of the Enugu state Police Command on the 20th of October, 2019 following an intelligence information.
The suspects; Somtochukwu (an ex-convict), Onyekeleze Chigozie and Nwali Chikwado all of Ebonyi state, specializes in burgling houses especially one whose owners are not around.
It was gathered that the suspects, on 21/9/19 allegedly broke into a house belonging to one Caroline Ekwere of Mile 2 Oji River and carted away household appliances as well as other valuables.
They were later, through intelligence information traced to an uncompleted building in the same mile 2 which they use as there hideout
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, has directed for a full scale investigations just as suspects are helping the operatives in their investigations.
In another related development, Operatives of the Emene Division, Enugu state command have nabbed one suspect who’s also a driver and gave his name as Paul Nwankwo from Obiagu, Ogui Enugu.
He was nabbed through intelligence information following his alleged role in the alleged vandalization of Rail Line within Emene Axis where he allegedly abandoned his L300 bus which was loaded with the vandalized rail line Iron.
Mr. Nwankwo and his gang (now at large) carried out the act on 11/10/19.
It was further gathered that the suspects had taken to their heels on that fateful day abandoning the said vehicle which was loaded with the exhibits.
The suspect is now helping the operatives in their investigations.
