Ahead of the planned nationwide implementation of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in all the states of the federation and the FCT, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU has directed for a one-day sensitization workshop for Police Public Relations Officers across the federation.
According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP, Ebere Amaraizu “the one day sensitization workshop for police public Relations officers on nationwide implementation of POCACOV is supported by the Nigeria Policing Programme (NPP) and is scheduled to hold on the 13th November, 2019, at the conference room of the Dennis hotel, plot 910 Njamania street off Aminu Kano crescent Abuja.”
SP Amaraizu said; “the sensitization workshop is to expose police spokespersons on the nationwide implementation of POCACOV and the modalities therein.
“The inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU will be delivering the key note address while Kemi Okenyodo, the National team lead of the NPP will deliver welcome address.”
POCACOV is the initiative of the Inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU Npm,Mni aimed at saving Nigerian youths from claws of cultism and other vices as well as deepening police public relationship to spotlight the dangers of cultism, substance abuse as well as other vices and their relationship with crime and galvanize stakeholders support in line with the tenets of community oriented policing to reduce incidences of cultism and other vices across the country.
