Operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS, has reportedly opened fire on protesters, journalists and others that have stormed the headquarters of the security department in protest to the continued detention of Sowore Omoyele, the convener of #RevolutionNow protest.

The federal high court sitting in Abuja had amended the bail conditions of the publisher of Sahara Reporters and on Friday 8th November, his counsel, Femi Falana said they have perfected his bail conditions.

The DSS however said on Friday night that they are yet to release him after acknowledging the court order because no one has come fort to take him, an assertion Femi Falana, SAN, quickly dismissed as false and said their lawyer was there for hours to take him.

The DSS failed to release him on Saturday after a number of persons stormed the DSS office to take him yet, the DSS failed to release him.

Their refusal prompted the ongoing protest in Abuja now.

The protesters led by Deji Adeyanju was however dispersed by the security operatives with live bullets fired on the air.
