The Enugu state Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdurahman has restated the command’s commitment towards maintaining peace and adequate security in the state.

CP, Abdurrahman made this known at the command’s headquarters while explaining the programme of action of the command under his watch especially, as the Yuletide celebration draws closer.

According to the commissioner of police; “The command has put in place, various proactive measures in line with community oriented policing tenets to endure the community engagement programme of the command to ensure safe and secured environment apart from the command’s law enforcement measures.

“We are working with different relevant stakeholders here in the state to reduce the incidences of crime and criminality in line with the community oriented policing tenets and we also have a lot of engagements with our officers to keep them in tune with the realities of community oriented police and this makes us achieve the important function of police duties of crime prevention,” the CP said.

Speaking further, the commissioner of police maintained that the command had concluded modalities for the up coming engagement programme tagged “Coal City Arise Against Cultism and Other Vices” under the POCACOV initiative of the inspector general of police IGP, Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU.

“The One-million-man March which comes up on 7th of December, 2019 beginning from 7 am will take off at okpara square and will involve different stakeholders marching against cultism and other vices in the state thereby raising the awareness and consciousness of the citizens.

“We are sensitizing stakeholders and we are not living any stone unturned,” he concluded.
