The of the Zamfara state governor, HE Haj. Aisha Matawalle has been named the Tuberculosis (TB) Champion of Zamfara by HE Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of Nigeria.

Her emergence isn’t unrelated to her quest for a better life for women in the state and her humanitarian works which has been outstanding in Zamfara state.

The Zamfara State First Lady was given the honour during the Peer review meeting on issues concerning maternal mortality which took place at the presidential Villa on Monday, 9th December 2019. The Nigerian First Lady, during the meeting, charged the state first ladies to work on reducing the rate of death of women as a result of tuberculosis.

In the meeting, the Zamfara state First Lady reiterated her determination and that of her husband, the governor of Zamfara state, HE Dr Bello Matawalle on improving the life and general well being of Zamfara state women and children.

Recall that Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has already declared free medical care for women and children in the state. The first lady according to her Dir. of Press, Talatu Ahmad Gusau, has taken the responsibility with joy and she is already making plans for its implementation across the state.

Reacting to the new development, the SA on media to the First Lady, Amina Ibrahim said; “Her Excellency’s tittle as Jaruman Gusau which means heroine of Gusau is yelding results.”
