The leadership of Ezeagu Youths Assembly, EYA, today, 22nd December held a special prayer for the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the representatives of Ezeagu both at the national and state assemblies, the Chief of Staff to Enugu State Government, the Chairman of the council and, other political office holders from Ezeagu LGA.

The special prayer was held at Sacred Heart Parish, Iwollo and the parish priest, Rev. Fr. John Ukehe enjoined the leaders to be humble despite the position they find themselves as humility opens more doors for God’s blessings.

He charged the people on purity as that is the only way the blessings of the Lord can get to them.

He told them that there’s need to distinguish between tradition and fetish practices, stressing that there’s a wide difference between the two. While the former talks about being upright, the later promotes abominable act.

Rev. Fr. Ukehe challenged the youths to rise up to the occasion and save their community from the claws of evil persons in the society that hide under tradition to commit abominable crimes.

He thanked the group for deeming it fit for them to come and pray for their leaders especially, the Governor of the state.
He said; “The Governor has a good heart, he has the best intentions for this state and praying for him is the best thing they can do for him.

“Charity is good but right now, we need to go a bit further by creating employment for the youths.

Speaking on the security situation in the country, the parish priest charged the youths to be proactive because the security situation isn’t palatable at the moment.

The coordinator of the group, Olinagu Chinonse George, said, they won’t be discouraged irrespective of what is happening in the society and will continue to do their best to contribute their quota to the growth of their society.

The member representing Ezeagu Constituency, Rt. Hon Chima Obieze thanked the youths for the initiative and expressed his satisfaction that the youths could come up with the idea.

He appealed to them to continue to pray for their leaders as leadership isn’t a tea party and the leaders sometimes get misled when they are in power.

Highlights of the event include, special prayer sessions for the leaders, special Thanksgiving by EYA.

Other leaders present at the special prayer session include; the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Dr. David Okelue Ugwunta, the Senior Special Assistance to Enugu State Governor on Arts and Culture, Ndidi Obi amongst others.
