The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Npm, has directed the setting up of offices in all the police commands in Nigeria for Police Campaign Against Cultism, POCACOV to further strengthen the resolve of the IGP to stamp out cultism and the activities of cultists in the country.

POCACOV which is an initiative of the inspector General of police, IGP and conforms with the ideas of seeking new remedies in solving issues in line with the tenets of community oriented policing and away from the use of core law enforcement approach.

POCACOV involves educating relevant stakeholders such as students and students leaders, political class, traditional rulers, town union leaders, youths and their leaders, market union and their leaders amongst others on the inherent dangers of cultism and other vices and the need to say no to it and be a champion.

Confirming the new directive by the IGP to JOURNALIST101, the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu said these offices are to be maned by seasoned police officers from the rank of a Superintendent and beyond.
