Youths in Udi and Ezeagu Local Governments in Enugu State under the auspices of Agbaja Youths General Assembly (AYGA) has distributed food items to some less privileged in the area.

The youth organisation which is the umbrella body of all youth organisations in Agbaja land said they were moved by the hardship which has been magnified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

They crisscrossed the entire Agbaja land, from 9th Mile (where some of the beneficiaries from Okpatu, Akpakume Nze, Umulumgbe were attended to) to Afor Oghe to Akama Oghe to Afor Ugwu to Orie Ezumezu to Umumba Ndi-Uno to Nkwo Ezeagu all in Ezeagu LGA. The train moved to Udi going through station in Amokwe, to Umabi to Nsude and Obioma.

Speaking to Journalist101, the president of the association, Comr. Ebube Nebo said they had to task their Executives and Members to raise the funds with which they reached out to the few persons they could on Wednesday, 15th April, 2020.

“What we did today can’t even be described as scratching the surface because our help was just a drop in a mighty ocean. We want our leaders at all levels and wealthy members of our society to please step up and assist our people in dire need especially at this period.

“The youths of Agbaja Land mobilized their personal resources and selected few persons from across the 40 electoral wards in Agbaja. This is not enough and we are calling on our leaders to step in,” Nebo said.

Rice and yam were the food items they distributed. sanitary pads were also given to young girls in the areas.
