The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) state coordinators for Oyo and Ebonyi states command of the Nigeria police force have emerged.
They are; SP Fadeyi Olugbenga for Oyo state police command. He’s also the state police public relations officer for Oyo state command while for Ebonyi state police command is DSP Lovet Odah who also doubles as the police public relations officer for Ebonyi state command.
Their appointments is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of police IGP Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU on the domiciling of POCACOV in all the state of the federation for the nationwide implementation of POCACOV for the realization of its goal in line with the tenets of community oriented policing following its nationwide launch by the IGP.
The National coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu said that the two POCACOV coordinators were among the police public relations officers that participated in the sensitization workshop for the nationwide implementation of POCACOV held in Abuja, which was supported by the Nigeria Policing Programme.
Amaraizu also disclosed that the state coordinators have pledged to embark on robust campaign with different stakeholders using community oriented approach with a view to reducing the menace and incidences of cultism, thuggery, associated violence, substance abuse, sexual and gender based violence and other vices for a safe and secured environment.
