Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State

It’s not yet uhuru for the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki as a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has granted an order restraining him from participating the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP scheduled to hold on Thurday, 25th June.

In a Motion Exparte filed by one of the PDP aspirants, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, the court ordered the PDP, INEC, the screening committee members to restrain the governor from participating in the election pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

The order was given on the 22nd of June by Justice E.A. Obile of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.

Also joined in the suit number FHC/PH/CS/69/2020, are the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, the PDP, Independent National Electoral Commission, Chairman of the party screening committee, Kingsley Chinda and other members of the committee.

One of the aspirants, Engr. Gideon Ikhine has already stepped down for the governor on Monday, 22nd June and handed over his campaign office to him.
